I. Membership
a. There are two requirements for membership.
1. A current member of the American Legion, Auxiliary, or Sons of the American Legion.
2. You must own a motorcycle of at least 650cc in size or be the spouse of an owner who is Association member.
It must be street legal, no atv's
II. Officiers of the Association Chapter
a. Director
b. Assistant Director
c. Secretary
d. Finance Officier
e. Sgt at Arms
f. Historian*
g. Chaplain*
h. Run Coordinator*
i. Road Captain*
j. Memebership Chairperson*
k.Webmaster*
(* Designates these offices are at the discretion if the chapter)
III. Elections
a. Elections of Chapter officiers will be held annually, with nominations in Octber and elections in November.
IV. Duties of Association Officiers
a.Director: Will server as Cheif Adminastrative Officier of the association and will preside over all meetings.
He shall have general supervision over the affairs of the Association. He shall perform such other duties as
directed by the general membership.
b. Assistant Director: Will assume the duties in the directors absence. Will assist the director in the performance of his
duties when called on to do so by the Dierctor.
c. Secretary: To keep a full and correct record of all proceeding at the meetings. Keep membership records as may be
required by the general membership. To give detailed last meetings minutes at each regular meeting.
d. Financial Officier: To have charge of all finances of the Association.To have charge of disbursing funds as directed by the
general membership. To give detailed financial reports at each meeting.
e. Sgt at Arms: To maintain protocol at all meeting as per " Roberts Rules of Order and by the rules set by the Association.
V. Meetings
a. Meetings will be held at a date, time, and place as voted on by a majority of members at any regular meeting.
Seven members will constitute a quorum.
VI. Finances
a. Finances of each Association Chapter will be from Association dues or such other sources, as approved by the
membership.
VII. Explusion
a. Any member may be expelled or suspended form the Association by a majority vote of the general membership
at a regular Chapter meeting.
1. The Association Officiers will handle all appeals.
2. Upon expulsion the backpatch must be returned to the Association and the member may not wear any apparel
with the Association logos.
3. Upon suspension the member may not wear any apparel with the Association logos but may attend function for
duration of the suspension.
VIII. Charter Membership
a. A cutoff for Charter Membership will be 50 members.
IX. Apparel
a. Members attending meetings or events must wear backpatch or T-shirt or ballcap with Assciation logo or pay a$5.00 fine.
b. Backpatch remains the property of the Assciation.
c. Vests
1.The American Flag must be the highest patch on the front left side.This applies to the flag as a patch by itself, if it is only
part of a patch this rule does not apply.
2. The front right side of the vest should be reserved for memory patches (i.e. POW/MIA, "In Memory" and the like).
3. Absolutely no "Property" patches.
4. Non-member apparel shall include the words "I Support".
X. Residency
a. Each chapter will be known by the state in which its majority of members reside. This Chapter will be know as
Arizona, Verde Valley Chapter Post 25 & 93 or any part of.
XI. Governing Rules.
a. These bi-laws are our standing rules for this chapter but they never be in conflict with the National constitution and the
bi-laws of the American Legion.
XII. Disbursment of Funds
a. Disbursement of funds will be only those authorized at any regular meeting of the Chapter. Each Chapter will be a
non-profit organization and may disburse funds in a manner that is keeping with all local, state, and national laws
regarding non-profit organizations.
XIII. Order
a. All meetings will be conducted under "Roberts Rules of Ordrer".
XIV. Dues
a. Dues will be $24.00 per year. Dues will be reviewed in October and increases ,if any, will be voted on in November
of each year.
